Well my Lillian Hope Nobles is actually here! And she is perfect! Even the nurses and doctors raved about how cute she was! I am one proud, tired momma! She was born at 7:59 am on May 17th, she was 5 lbs 2 oz and 18 inches long. She was a little early. Around week 30 I developed high blood pressure and massive feet!!! I mean they looked like potatoes! So due to mom's swollness she had to be delivered via c-section. Ladies that is the way to go for sure!
We had to get to the hospital at 5:oo in the morning! People I don't do mornings so this was a toughy for Steph, because we had to get up at 3:30! But how could I sleep anyways right?! I was having a baby in the morning! Anyway, we got to the hospital and our best friend's mom was my nurse. She tried to give me my IV and my nerves started getting the best of me! I started shaking like a leave in November! Plus I have like baby veins that hate needles! So somebody else had to give it to me and it shot out blood like a slasher movie! I thought I might faint but I knew that was the least of what was about to happen to me! Anyway once the IV was in place the happy meds started working and I really didn't care anymore. I was still super nervous though and still kept shaking!
My entire family came and was in the room with me until time to go back and have the baby. My sister wore this enormous bow on her head (she is ever so trendy) and I truly think later in life when she looks at the pictures the head attire will be deeply regretted! But it was cute and matched her cardigan perfectly! She's good like that! But they call me back and sweet darling husband prayed with me in the bathroom (I needed his assistance frequently with this task, they don't tell you how many time you will have to potty due to the fluids!). That I think was my favorite part prior to the baby of course, not the potty situation the quiet time we had in the bathroom where I darling husband held me and in his arms and prayed over our baby and our new life together. Then they wheeled me through the hall and I just closed my eyes and tried not to panic!
We got down to the operating room which by the way looked a lot like a dungeon and had bug lights in the hallway. I had no problem with that idea until afterwards. Yuck! Anyway they made me hoop to another table that was sorta like a tilt-a-whirl. And guys they strap down your arms! Believe me I am not going to try and help out with this operation but I don't see the need to the restraints! I was then made to sit on the edge of the bed and a very bossy take charge sort of woman began giving me my spinal block meds. Before I could even get my feet on the table the medicine was working in me feet! It is a very weird feeling having sensation in only one half of your body. Once again I just kept my eyes closed. Then my husband came in and touched my face and I knew he was in the room with me. The operation began and 3 nanoseconds later my beautiful baby was in the world!
They rushed her over to the tables and started all that who ha that do and my husband brought her to me and I got to bask in her perfection for a split second and she was whisked out the door with her daddy. Apparently I didn't rejoin the party for about 2 hours later. None of this I remember, but I do remember being wheeled into a hall full of friends and family like it was a parade! I was still goofy and for some reason saw my cousin and decided to tell her how nice her hair looked on my way by. I have no idea what her hair looked like just went with it though. Then they placed my baby in my arms for the first time and all was right in the world. Whoever was in that room with me did not matter. I had my baby in my arms. She was and still is the most precious, pure, most beautiful thing I have ever looked at! She is the best thing and I love her!
